This time I’m picking their Camilla product line since it is really really appealing to me.I love the pale and muted colors used.. It has that quaint, country and very homey feel to it, not to mention the functionality each arrangement exudes..

Most people want that extra storage in the bedroom without adding another cabinet specially if your space is limited. But even if you have a football field sized  bedroom, a humongous cabinet is not really that appealing.

Dressers with chests drawers would come in as a really good choice to address this need. You get to use the top area as your vanity, place a mirror over it and the chest of drawers can be your place for your whatchamacallits.

I must admit though that yes dressers and chests are functional, I am hesitant to pour in thousands of dollars for it, so I’ve been browsing around for functional dressers and chests that would just fit a budget of less than $150. I was surprised with my finds! They don’t look cheap at all, in fact they are downright pretty!

Things had been pretty hectic this past few months but I’m happy to note that I’ve at least managed to keep this blog updated. No mean feat but I do love this blog and I find it very easy to cruise around the web looking for new things, home trends I want to feature here.

blogging One of the things I’ve been busy with is experimenting with online shops and affiliate partners. I have in mind to open my own online shopping site of things I make. Did I mention I’m into crafting again? This time I’m so addicted to crocheting! And I’m also planning to start experimenting with polymer clay crafting. I’m thinking, once my products are good enough I want to open my own Etsy shop or an standalone shopping site.

Right now though, I’m still on practicing and polishing mode in terms of quality of my crafts so for now I’m trying to market affiliate products as another way to make money online. I’ve recently discovered the use of affiliate data feeds and I figured I could probably create an online shop with these feeds, so I’m currently shopping around for business web hosting and also a shopping cart software that is functional, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing.

Another project occupying a huge chunk of my time is setting up another batch of blogs each with a specific niche (I’ve got around 5 new ones :-P and obviously I’m addicted to it already..), and also updating and fixing up old blogs.

And oh, the good news too is that my Google Adsense earnings are on an uphill climb and this just excited and motivates me more.. Wish me luck..Hope to see more moolah pouring in from my online ventures soon..I have this totally out of this world goal to buy another house and lot with my online earnings. I could dream right? And I plan to make it possible anyway I can..

I’m a fan of eco-friendly innovative designs, and Debbie Wijskamp just impresses with these Paper Pulped Cabinets. The collection of paper pulped cabinets were presented at DMY Berlin.

Debbie Wijskamp describes the collection in her website:

Inspired by different cultures, making their homes with materials found in their surroundings, Wijskamp wanted to design her own building material. Experimenting with the re-usage of wastepaper resulted in a material with its own characteristic appearance and structure. Besides this, it is a very versatile material with many possible applications.
In contrast with the cabinets, the paperpulp tableware items are very fragile decoration objects. The colour of the pots depend on the amount of ink used in the recycled newspapers and makes every piece unique.

I love curtains! They are just perfect if you want to add a little pizzazz to a room without breaking the bank. In fact, curtains adds a really homey, and pretty feel to any room. Be it your living room, your bedroom, or your kid’s bedroom. palace-jacquard-drapes-ivory-large With curtains, you can either splurge on top of the line curtains and have it professionally installed or you can even do-it-yourself! Personally, I prefer doing it myself. And if I’m on a really tight budget, its amazing how many pretty curtains you can find in second-hand shops!

Curtains, drapes, hardware for your window are pretty easy to put together. If you opt to do it by yourself, it’ll save you a lot, and of course, you’ll most definitely be stamping your own personal style on it. All it needs is a little sewing skill and materials. Here’s an excellent tutorial I found in eHow.com on how to sew your own curtains.

The biggest expense with this project of course is the fabric. Department stores have some really nice selections of cheap curtain fabrics and items on clearance. There are also lots of online shops selling discounted fabrics like FashionFabricsClub. And one of the best places to find cheap fabric is at second-hand fabric/curtain shops.

If you don’t particularly like to sew, but still want to make your own curtain, then you can still make your own beautiful but no sew curtains using flat sheets. This is an excellent idea, one that I’ll probably give a try..

If do-it-yourself is not your preferred way but would still like to dress up your windows on  budget, then there are still plenty of places you can find curtains, drapes, hardware for your window that are very affordable. Online shops offer a variety of budget curtain choices, in fact you’ll be spoiled for choices once you start looking and browsing around these online curtain shops like curtainworks.com.

Who doesn’t love innovation? I’m a sucker for cool things, cool design, and I love it more if its geared towards easing the burden we place on the environment. I’m pretty sure majority out there would agree, that environment friendly designs are just the coolest thing!

Here’s one from designers Chan Wan Ki Kay, Chen Siu Wa Shai Chai, and Suen Ka Hei Catherine. Using a lot of recycled items like lamp stands, and using energy saving and eco-friendly lightbulb systems and diffusers to come up with a really fabulous and innovative lighting design, very aptly named the Living Pixel.

If you’re into architecture and design, or perhaps all things Italian, you’ve most probably already heard about Italian architect Simone Micheli.

simone-micheli-houseinflorence simone-micheli-houseinflorence-2 simone-micheli-houseinflorence-3

Micheli is known for his bold, contemporary designs and that is also evident in his own residence called the House in Florence where he lives with his wife and son.

It is a residence made up of 90% eco compatible materials and it is an authentic hyperrealist portrait of the “Ethical Luxury” which is one of the main focuses of his daily architectural searching. It is a dynamic, extremely fresh and vivid intervention taking place in an ancient 1800 setting which has converted these spaces laden with memories into a new environment capable of hosting meaninful fragments connected with a fast and unstoppable metropolitan life.

I just love its bold lines and curves! Not everyone would fall for the bold splashes of color but it just works for this space. Another thing I like are those fabulous bookshelves and built-ins. Contemporary, modern, yes but its still looks like a really fun house, a place where kids would love to play..

Are you the type who just can’t get enough of re-arranging your space and furnishings? Well, I am. I constantly move around stuff in my place so I could have different looks everytime. But there only so much you can do especially if you have limited space and most furnishings are just not that flexible.

bend-sofa-patricia-urquiola bend-sofa-patricia-urquiola2

The Bend Sofa by Patricia Urquiola might just be the answer to those flexibility concerns. Flexible, yet still manages to look aesthetically pleasant. The first time I saw it on the Contemporist blog, I immediately thought its something like a 3D model. The B&B Italia website provides this description to the Bend Sofa..

Patricia Urquiola’s has designed a surprising series of seats that transforms the tradition concept of the sofa. she has entitled the product bend sofa due to its curvaceous albeit monolithic form. It gives the appearance of being manually moulded from a supple material as if by a sculptor. In practice, it issues from a study of 3-d models and digital research. bend sofa effectively conveys the idea of motion by alternating full and empty spaces.

Contrasting seams add to the intrinsic design on the surface. the backrest is irregularly shaped, but without compromising comfort. Curved modules - assembled starting with the seats, ottoman and corner elements - form a sofa that breaks out of the usual visual schemes and differentiates from other contemporary pieces on account of its calculated eccentricity.

Bend sofa offers flexible composition solutions, including small linear versions, corner solutions or a spectacular (non necessarily domestic) version that can fill a space with double-sided seating arrangements, becoming the absolute centre of attention with its iconic presence.

It sure does looks comfy and for sure it’ll satisfy the constant itch I have to move things around..

One of the best ways for most of us to remind ourselves of to-do tasks, dates to remember, errands, goals,  etc is to stick some random post notes on the refrigerator door or write some notes on  white board.

While I must admit I do the “fridge note leaving” thing I must also admit it could darn get so ugly! And I tend to lose a lot of notes too, especially if there’s a lot of notes piled there already.

Here’s a cool solution to that, not to mention it looks a lot more prettier. In fact, its like a wall decor by itself!
