The Womb Chair designed by Finnish architect and designer Eero Saarinen. This is just the perfect chair to curl up in. Oh, I wish I could have one... lol! if I could afford it!

The Womb Chair's enveloping, lap-like form continues to be one of the most iconic and recognized representations of mid-century Scandinavian organic modernism. In fact, ask most designers and architects what lounge chair design they covet and they'll promptly tell you it's the Womb Chair. Manufactured by Knoll according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer.
Here's one in fabric..

And another one in leather..

I just suddenly realized that this post is my 702nd post! I had been watching out and counting my posts and I did keep in mind that I should celebrate making my 700th post and that was two posts ago and it was all about indoor wall plants.

This blog [my first ever, first born, first baby, guinea pig/blog} is now almost 3 years old! And it has been an awesome blogging experience, and I'm pretty sure there are much more things to look forward to. Now let me get on with the celebration..

Our bedroom AC has broken down last month, and since its 'ber' months now and its not so hot, were taking our sweet time repairing it. Were actually just planning to replace our old window through unit with a new split type unit. We'll probably have one installed just before summer months hit us.

For now, were using a stand fan. Not even that much coz our bedroom is well ventilated. But last Saturday, when I was cleaning the room and pulling out the mattresses for airing, I accidentally knocked over the fan and one of the blades broke. Still  can be used but  it now has that faint thudding noise. Now, I'm thinking of having a ceiling fan installed.

I like ceiling fans, because they can save a lot of space. And they are great for circulating the air in the room and I find the temperature is more consistent with ceiling fans compared to regular stand fans, plus the blast of air is not that suffocating and overwhelming. Another thing is that they now come in different styles that are a lot more decorative than the usual stand fans.  Case in point would be these lovely ceiling fan fixtures I found over at Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans.

This one would look lovely in a little girl's room..
Perfect for the verandah or an outdoor patio..

For the living area or a bedroom.. Don't you think it's elegant?

This one is fabulous. Perfect for the living room or a formal dining area. Add in the bulbs and you get an overhead lighting..

So zen-like! I would love to have this on our bedroom..

And this one's great for room for the boys..

Which one would be your pick? I'm pretty sure you get what I mean when I say they could even double up as room decor and even mood lighting. And those kids/sports themed ceiling fans are just so cool. Great for bedrooms for kids.

I heart this! I just can't imagine living in a house without any speck of green. Perhaps its because of the way we grew up in a house with lots and lots of plants, or perhaps its because I find it much easier to breathe whenever I see some greens around me.

But practically speaking, having a garden or even pots of plants in a home is becoming more and more of a challenge because of the space constraints. Specially those living in cities who just settle now for an odd pot or two of herbs on their kitchen windows or maybe a few cactus plants or some begonia or petunia pots hanging about the veranda.

So when I saw this, I just thought, wow! this is just one of the most perfect solutions I've ever stumbled across for those who have very limited space but would still like to see a bit of green in their homes. It's stylish, pretty, easy to maintain and have a very dramatic effect on any area. The Indoor Living Wall Kits from Gardeners.com. Available in wall mounted and free standing models.

Just a Bit about Chloramine Water Filter

I used to say this, if I was made to choose between having water and electricity, I'd much rather deal with no electricity than without water. Can you imagine yourself, not taking a bath, drinking just drops, not being able to wash clothes, dirty dishes and all. Truth is water is so all important and necessary for everyone, especially their health. Having said that, the next thing that concerns me most is that the water available in our homes should be clean and uncontaminated.

I know a lot of water works authorities in any of the many municipalities add chlorine to the purify water that comes out of our taps but recently, chloramines are also added to our water. This is particularly alarming as chloramines have been reported to have ill effects on health. And it has also been reported that to remove chloramines is a lot harder than it is to remove chlorine, so imagine how tough they are on our bodies.

Admittedly, I hate the taste and smell of chlorine and worse is if he chloramine is in there too; this happens when ammonia is added to chlorine in water. A chloramine water filter will come in handy for this purpose. I guess I'm sufficiently concerned about this. How can one not be? We don't only use tap water for bath or washing, in some places, we drink it and cook with it, and even if you drink water from water purifying stations, would they guarantee that these chemicals are removed from our drinking water? Hmm, now that is one question whose answer I intend to find out. As for now, I'll be checking out how I can learn more about chloramine water filters. As they say, better be safe than sorry..

Your house... Well, that's what I get asked usually by the postman, delivery guys, people coming over, maintenance people. What can I say, aside from the fact that our house is located in a narrow street a few meters from the main road, which admittedly makes it harder to find and our not having any address plaque makes it even worse.

Lol! You must be wondering why I'm about to tear my insides about this, but you see its terribly upsetting. The other day, the maintenance guy for our internet connection was coming over to have something checked and it took him 30 mins to find our house and I had to go out the main road to look for him! Another thing is that my husband is not here and before most of our mail gets sent to his office but now its all being redirected here. And its bad because I couldn't go online shopping coz I'm wary about the packages not being able to make it. I know its for an entirely selfish reason but...Now that I think about it, maybe having a huge address sign would work wonders eh?

Now, I'm thinking having one of those outrageous address signs would do really nicely. Maybe something with neon lights hehe.. Or perhaps this solar powered address tower would fit exactly what I need, its stylish and well attention grabbing enough. At least the pizza delivery won't take an hour before we could have our dinner.

Solar address marker is from Collections Etc.
