Change the Look of Your Room with D-I-Y Budget Curtains..

One of the easiest ways to change the look of a room is to add some window treatments. It's easy but if you are working around a budget it may not be as easy. It's quite costly to purchase a totally new window treatment for your entire living room.

If you are creative though, you can explore other window treatment options to spruce up your windows. Make your own easy-on-the budget curtains. All you need is your fabric and some simple connectors.

Fabric. Visit a wholesalers shop. Choose a fabric that suits your home decor theme and that would match your personal style. Select something that has finished edges or consider those already with prints.

Connectors. Your local handyman or shops have this. Choose a grommet ( protective eyelet in a material that prevents damage either to the material or to a rope passed through it), clip, hook or cord.

Simply piece all these together. Set the grommet on the fabric, then use the hooks in the holes or you can thread cords through the grommet holes then use this to hang it from a wooden curtain bar or on hooks above your window. Just a few simple steps and you'll have a simple, yet stylish window treatment.

If you are a frequent at flea markets or antique stores, you may chance upon chic clips that easily latches on the fabric. Other places you can find these clip-on rings are home decorating shops and import stores.

Another way is to use buttons on the curtains. Just thread a fine wire through the holes and sections of buttons and twist the wire on the back side to create small loops to use in hanging the curtain.

Don't let your budget or your lack of sewing skills stop you from creating a personalized and stylish window treatment for your home. Let your creativity flow and experiment with different styles and materials.
