For Multi-Tasking Mommies

Photobucket

There are times when we mom's feel the need to do two things or three things at the same time. Since I had a baby I've been wishing there's 30 hours a day and I wish I could be in three places at the same time. I'm not complaining since I love being a mom and wife, but sometimes things can get really hectic and we do have to multi-task.

Tips to get better at multi-tasking:
  • Divide the time. Schedule time for each task and set aside sometime say 15 to 30 minutes for interruptions (phone calls, visitors etc)
  • Take time outs. Blue's Clues puts it this way, STOP, BREATHE and THINK! Take time to catch your breath. Me, I get inspired, creative ideas after I stop to relax.
  • Get help. I highly recommend a helper. Mom's need sometime to ourselves too and if we do all the work, I don't think its possible. I don't like being a hypocrite about it, sure its nice to do everything and say you're completely hands-on but come on, tons of hard work plus kids are hard to juggle and if you don't want to end up looking so "losyang", if you can afford it then get a helper. If you can't, then delegate!
  • Finish each planned task. It will give you a great feeling of satisfaction and will drive you to do more.
  • All your schedules or tasks should be according to your personal rhythm. If you're not a morning person, then don't schedule a lot of task in the morning.
