Drink Green Tea: for one or two reasons..

I've taken tea drinking to heart...For lots of good reason.

Researchers are now crediting tea consumption for the "Asian Paradox". It turns out that certain Asian population have lower rates of heart disease and cancer than Americans, even among heavy smokers. One theory is that the average daily consumption of 1.3 quarts of green tea provides abundant protection because of tea's antioxidant polyphenols. And, in recent study out of Dartmouth Medical School, the polyphenols in tea were associated with a significantly lower risk of skin cancer. (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2007; 56:781-85; Journal of the American College of Surgery, 2006; 202:813-825)

Not only that, in a clinical study, researchers found that human lung-cancer cells exposed to decaffeinated green tea extract remodeled a certain protein in the cancer cells, making them more likely to stick together, as healthy cells do. Cancer cells don't normally stick together - one of the reason why cancer spreads throughout the body. Although the study doesn't prove that drinking green tea can curb lung cancer in people, it does suggest the possibility of making new lung-cancer drugs based on green tea extract.
