Photo Hunt 203: Foreign

I've been living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for the past year and half. Everything here is unique and interesting for me, but Khmer weddings standout. It usually takes 2-3 days with lavish rituals, ceremonies and offerings.. Here's a photo of offerings the groom's family and friends bring to the bride's house.

Again this is one of those themes that can easily take so many directions. I'd have never thought of that. Great shot and perfect for the theme.

@ Susanne, yes. My thought exactly. Their wedding rituals and trimmings never cease to amaze me.

@ Scott, thank you. Your photo of Italy was lovely.

@YTSL, i hear yah. My husband is Cambodian but we didn't have a Cambodian wedding ceremony because I think the elaborateness was just too much for us to handle. Imagine having a wedding that lasted for more that 3 days and more than 10 costume changes..

@Marina, thank you.

@Irene, yes it is. Cambodians love colorful things from houses to their dresses, they don't shy away from brilliant colors.
