6 Housekeeping Tips To Help You Save Time and Money

Just when you thought you can have a day or two off from work, then you're confronted with a pile of housework to be done. Then you end up just cleaning instead of doing something to de-stress.

House cleaning or housekeeping might seem to be a never-ending, time-consuming task but with some careful planning and some clever ideas you can reduce the time spent for housekeeping and have sometime to bond with your family, read a book that you've been wanting to read, or get a pedicure or a facial, and whatever else you want to do.

Tip #1. Don't strive to clean the whole house in just one go. Divide your time and say clean half the house or just the upper floor in one afternoon. Then the other half, the next morning or afternoon. If you have a basement, an attic or a garage, reserve a block of time for those spaces too. That way, you don't over exert yourself plus since you can focus on one area at a time, the job can be done more thoroughly.

Tip #2. Try using an old sock slipped over your hand as a dusting cloth. Saves you from dragging around that heavy vacuum cleaner and hooking up hoses and attachments.

Tip #3. Soak your toilet with a deep cleaning bowl cleanser a few minutes before cleaning. That way, stubborn dirt will be loosened and scrubbing won't take up too much time.

Tip #4. Vinegar and old newspapers works great for cleaning mirrors and windows. Recycling and saving money all in one. Mirror cleansers can be expensive but vinegar also does the same effective work.

Tip #5. Use baking soda when scrubbing clean the insides of your refrigerator. Baking soda is great for eliminating dirt and odor without damaging the appliance' fragile surfaces.

Tip #6. When cooking and while eating, have a sink of soapy water ready. Wash as you go and food won't have a chance to stick and harden on the dishes surface so washing can up be done faster and easier.
