If you're like me who gets the itch to change the look of every room in our house every now and then you'd know that one of the best ways to make a room attractive is to add a wall art. What I really like about wall arts as accents is that you have a wide variety of choices if you want to create a different look every time.

One wall accent that I particularly like is the metal wall art because of their uniqueness and beauty and if you want to make a central area in a particular room, add a metal wall art and it would surely be a conversation piece.

If wall accents made of metal are too heavy, another fabulous decor option is the canvass wall art. These are light weight but the colors and textures that you will add to the room is awesome. You can choose a scenery you prefer with colors that you want to highlight in your room.

To spice up a room, you can also add up candles, mirrors, lamps etc. But whatever choice you make sure that you like it. You will be the one using it the most so best go with the one that you are most comfortable with.

I haven't updated this for a week coz I've been so busy settling down to our new home.We got here on the 15th and it was only yesterday that I got to drive around and have my fill of fried rice noodles with pate, egg, vegetables and some sweet sour sauce. I keep forgetting the name of the dish hehe. I love eating this and having a cool sugar cane juice drink afterwards.

Cambodian food here is really delicious and affordable too. A plate of this delicious dish costs no less than 50 Pesos and the serving is huge. I 'm actually planning to try out all kinds of noodles and rice toppings they have and creating a post about it but I don't think my waistline and my weighing scale would agree to that..

The photos are actually meant for my pinaywifespeaks blog but I am so lazy to post there.. hehe. Will update my blogs soon.. As soon as I can get enough sleep, have finished unpacking and getting a reliable ISP..

Eye glasses now are really stylish yet some could be really burn a hole in our pockets, so I was pleasantly surprised to know that there are still quality yet affordable glasses in the market just like the $ 8 Zenni Optical Rx Eyeglasses.

They actually have a huge selection of frames to suit all styles and preferences. I'm very particular about the material of the frame used and it was great to note that they do have plastic or acetate frames. I prefer these since it is more lightweight and durable too. I do drop glasses often :). For others who prefer other materials, there are frames made of stainless steel, titanium, aluminum alloy and more.

If you are picky about the rims of your frames, there are various choices of rimless, half-rims and frames with full rims. If you are also on the lookout for frames for children, Zenni Optical also has them in their selections.

These makes shopping for glasses all the more easy 'coz you can actually view photos of each glasses and choosing the best one could bring quite a dilemma. But if you are undecided, better choose several pairs to go with each outfit and with the price of $ 8 Zenni Optical Rx Eyeglasses you won't have to worry about breaking the bank balance even if you get 10 pairs.

Our house is clutter all around. We've been sorting out our stuff, which ones well have shipped for storage in our parents house in Bicol, which ones for shipping to our new home in Phnom Penh and which ones well be bringing on our trip next week.

I loathe packing but its something that must be done. I've been meaning to sort things out last week but procrastination as well as some events just had me postponing packing. I don't like having the house as messy as this with boxes everywhere and my daughter un-sorting all the things I've already sorted.

On the other hand, I'm a bit glad to have something to be busy with to take my mind off and postpone my homesickness. It'll be a a year maybe before I could come back and visit my parents and I'll definitely miss the Philippines. It has been home for most of my life so there are things I'll miss. I'll even be missing the traffic, the street food, the music, jeepneys, the malls, just hearing the language, and of course I'll be missing my family and friends but well I have to make do with phone calls, chatting and web cams..

For the next few days I will not be able to update this site for obvious reasons and when we get there, I'm not yet sure about the internet connection at home. As I know internet connection in Phnom Penh is expensive and I'll have to do with good old dial-up services or broadband with speeds guaranteed to make me fall asleep. I'm beginning to appreciate Smart Bro now :) , I have the unlimited plan and I can surf anytime, all the time and when I get to Phnom Penh I'll have to wait for the off peak hours so it'll take time for me to get used it. Huh! Some things can really be appreciated when you don't have it anymore..

But expect me to keep updating this site as well as my other sites and I'm kinda excited to blog about my new experiences. New place, new things, new people, new culture and traditions, exotic food, well all translates to new stories to tell. Till next time...

Sundays are usually our cleaning day. This time it was the light fixtures that got better end of my feather duster. Whenever I clean its usually the clutter, the walls, the cabinets, the floor that gets my usual attention.

Lighting fixtures usually escapes my notice coz most of them except for lamps are fixed and it doesn't accumulate dust and clutter as much as other fixtures. But I since I've been cleaning all the rest of the house the past few weeks, I picked the lighting fixtures and lamps to clean out.

I had to be careful cleaning all the lamps because most are really fragile. If you're cleaning ceiling light fixtures and other light which cannot be unplugged, make sure your circuit breaker. Better be safe. Give the kitchen light fixtures more attention. I noticed they are dirtier than light fixtures located at the living room and bedroom areas probably because of dust and grease from the stove.

After a day of dusting and cleaning I guess I deserve some beauty sleep now..

It's true. I love to cook, I even experiment with it. But only when I have time and these days that is really rare. Everyone in my family knows our "microwave" method and microwave toaster ovens is our most used kitchen appliance aside from the stove.

To save time and to help me manage feeding my family I cook in batches. That way I can easily allot time for other things and would also be easier for anyone who comes and goes at odd times to have a meal ready.

Say I schedule cooking several viands good for 2-3 days, divided and packed in different containers and frozen. If I get so busy with work, if my husband works late, if my brother goes home at odd hours and we feel hungry, I don't need to hurry up and cook a meal. I just have to grab a frozen pack and pop it in the microwave and a minute late we could all get a meal.

I know my mother and father is complaining against this lifestyle but what can I do we have to maximize our time and this is our best option.

Home for me would always be Albay. Some of my friends say living in this province is scary. I can't really blame them were practically living in one of the provinces most visited by typhoons, landslides, lahar flows and volcanic eruptions.

So what makes me want to go back again and again? Simple, it's home. I grew up in one of the towns in the first district of Albay and this area has less of the floods and lahar mud flows but we get more of the strong winds during typhoons since its closer to the Pacific Ocean. This place though holds my memories of going to its black beaches for my daily swim, climbing fruit trees, playing traditional Filipino games with neighbor kids, braving the floods just to go to school, surviving countless typhoons..

When you say Albay Province, most of people from other province would think - volcano, floods, typhoons, landslides..But for me, I get reminded of greens, of a landscape so different from others. Land around the volcano is very fertile, plus we get a greater share of rains so the Albay landscape is really green.

Last week I went home to visit my parents and I've been trying to take a photo of Mayon Volcano but it has managed to elude my lenses for several days. All I could get are these photos with the volcano hiding behind clouds.

It has almost been two years since the province was struck with one of worst typhoons and mud flows in history. Hundreds of people killed and missing, several small communities buried under tons of rocks. For sometime these places has an eerie feel, just looking at it makes me feel so desolate..

Albay has suffered a lot, have weathered hundreds of typhoons, eruptions, yet Albayanos still keeps beating the odds. People from Albay are known for their resilience, their strength in times of adversity. It was tough growing up in a place like that but I'm extremely proud to be an Albayano. We have faced a lot of adversities and after all that, I could see people who have strong faith and a more generous appreciation of life..

My husband and I share a good liking for pick up trucks. For me there is something edgy and so masculine about pick up trucks yet this type of vehicle has a good functionality too. We'd both love to have a pick-up truck but what we don't agree on is the color we prefer. I want a red one, he wants a blue or black pick-up.We like outdoors, gardening, going on drives, having picnics and camping, so we prefer a vehicle with a lot of sitting space plus a room for hauling things around.

Getting comfortable on long trips, having space to put our stuff in and transporting gardening things and also of great importance is the price. Cars are an important buy and before we hand over any of our hard-earned money we have to make sure we could afford it and it would match out lifestyle.

There are quite a number of different pick up trucks in the market and choosing one can be a daunting task. There are a lot of things to be considered and for people like us who are no experts when it comes to car specifications, functions and design. This is where car reviews come in handy.

Car reviews offer potential buyers a look at the possible options and would certainly arm us with enough information when negotiation and buying time comes. I have been looking around and reading dodge ram 1500 reviews and checking out its improved features and we certainly find it very appealing.

We'll certainly be taking our time doing research and when the time comes, we'll be ready to get the best pickup truck deal.
