Getting Rid of those Eye Bags

Trip to Bicol by car or aircon bus would take around 10 to 1 2hours of travel. A few days ago we decided to take the night trip, meaning we were on the road instead of being asleep and when I'm on travel I rarely get to sleep a wink. It's really frustrating, even if I take some sleeping tablets I would still force myself to sleep.

12 hours of no sleep equates to eye bags for me. My mom said I looked exactly like a zombie when we arrived in Bicol. If I don't get enough sleep, it really shows since I've been cursed with easy to turn to racoon eyes!

I've been reading a lot and bugging my cousin ( a makeup artist/stylist) on what do I do about my under-eye circles. Here's the tips I've gathered around.

  • Get enough sleep. At least 8 hours of sleep will do wonders in getting that refreshed look.
  • Soak two green tea bags in cool water and place over eyes for five minutes. The caffeine and antioxidants help reduce puffiness
  • Do a regular facial exercise to improve blood circulation.
  • Use eye creams that contain Vitamin K which helps with bruising and can minimize those dark circles.
  • Protect the skin area under your eyes with sunscreen and moisturizes with SPF.
  • Moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize! Dull and dry skin can make the eye bags standout.
  • Use concealer in a shade close to your natural color or one shade lighter.
  • Consult a doctor. Your dark circles might be caused by some allergies.
  • Don't use mascara and liner on the lower lid since it will only darken and accentuate your eye bags.
  • Don't use a very light concealer, this will make under-eye circles brown or grayish.
  • Avoid using brown shade of eyeshadows and liners since this colors enhance dark circles.
Now, I really SHOULD get some SLEEP! :) Good night..

Hello Pinaywife,

To add, women can also try massaging their eyes with, take note, their ring finger. It's the one that inflicts the least pressure... also a tried and tested strategy, don't be in a relationship with someone who will make you cry! :)
