Perfect GUY Gifts for Every Zodiac Sign

A wise lover values not so much the gift of the lover as the love of the giver. ~Thomas á Kempis

Giving the right for our guy, we'll that is something I always have trouble with.. Here's a guide by astrosexologist Kiki T, author of The Celestial Sexpot's Handbook...This is just to give us women who are in a dilemma, a guide to the perfect gift for that special guy!

Aries: March 21 - April 19
Ah, Aries. Fiery, short-tempered, self-absorbed. Sound like your guy? Aries is a natural-born leader who "really likes being a trendsetter," says Kiki. Gift-wise, "never get him anything used," she warns. Stick with presents that would make him feel like he's "the first at something. That psychological thrill excites him more than the actual object." He's a perfect candidate for the latest technology, so make a quick trip to Apple for his gift. Whether it's an iPhone or the newest iPod, he'll love being the first of his friends to have it.

Taurus: April 20 - May 20
Taurus men are conservative and traditional. They don't like to change routines. "They're just kind of like comfort food," says Kiki. As for his gift, pick something that blends into his lifestyle—his couch-potato lifestyle, that is. "A new universal remote control, or something like that, is very Taurus," Kiki explains. So make his TV-watching dreams come true—consolidate all those remotes into one with a universal clicker. He'll feel like the king of the couch.

Gemini: May 21 - June 20
Gemini men are fun-loving, curious types, according to Kiki. They like to experience all sorts of things. Sounds like your relationship is never boring, huh? So what kind of gift would a Gemini guy go for? "They like communicating, so anything that deals with media, talking or TV is good for Gemini," Kiki says.

Cancer: June 21 - July 22
Ever get the feeling your guy has PMS? Well according to Kiki, Cancers are simultaneously moody and sweet. Luckily, the sweet side wins out: "They're like the security sign of the zodiac," she explains. "They're kind of nurturing." So when choosing a gift, appeal to that sentimental side. "Anything that holds some kind of memory or reminds them of what you experienced together" is a winner. Time to gather up all those photos of you two and put them into a nice album But don't forget the mushy card—trust us, he'll love it.

Leo: July 23 - August 22
"They're the romantics. Everything is over the top. They're really flamboyant and indulgent, and they like being the center of attention." Wow. So how do you pick a gift for a guy like that? "Anything outrageous and expensive," says Kiki.

Virgo: August 23 - September 22
As for Virgos: "They're into efficiency. They're into seeing results of things—they don't like to waste time with anything." Well, take that as a sign that you make the cut (because otherwise it sounds like he'd have cut you loose by now!). In terms of presents, think practical. Stick to things he already has and simply needs more of. "With Virgos, don't assume to get them something different," says Kiki. "If you want to get them a new phone, get them the same exact phone they have." A surefire winner? A bottle (or case, depending on the cost) of his favorite wine.

Libra: September 23 - October 22
Isn't he lovely? Libras love beautiful things. "They're into beauty. They need to be surrounded by beauty," says Kiki. "They're more prone to being a metrosexual than any other sign." This one's easy! Spruce up his morning routine with a classic shaving set. Not only will this gift help him groom his gorgeous self, but it'll even make his bathroom prettier.

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21
Scorpios are known for mystery. And sex. What a combination, right? "They're really intense, so when you get them a gift, it has to be meaningful or they'll see it as a reflection of you," Kiki warns. Hmmm, this one's tough. But hey, you're dating a Scorpio, so you're used to frustration. Here's an idea that should put you at ease: a world time zone clock. Just twist the dial to reveal the time anywhere in the world—perfect for Scorpios who travel for work (or play). Mention in the card that you'd like to make out with him in at least three different time zones by this time next year.

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21
"They're independent, fun and always optimistic about everything. They're lovely; they're just people looking for a good time." Um, note to self: Find a Sagittarius. But Kiki warns, "Sometimes they have their heads so far up in the clouds that they have no sense of reality." Ah, gotcha. So what kind of gift will bring them back down to earth? "They love to travel. Anything that deals with the world is good for them," Kiki says.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19
Capricorns are very fatherly. They're a stern, traditional sign, and they tend to be workaholics. "They love status, so go with anything that's expensive or has a label," says Kiki. They're the kind of guys who'd go out and buy a Hummer but have no clue how to work the darn thing. However, since both designer labels and luxury vehicles are out of the question, why not give your workaholic a status symbol he can rock right into the office? Cuff links are the perfect present for your Capricorn

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18
"They're really into being around people, being social and connecting. They're eccentric and humanitarian—the innovators of the world. And what about when it comes to presents? "They like gadgets of all sorts, especially technology and video games. They're kind of nerdy like that as far as gifts." Gadgets. Got it.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20
"They're the sweethearts!" Kiki exclaims. "They're really romantic; they're really emotional. They're just like sponges—they feel whatever's around them and then react to it." Plus, it turns out Pisces is also the sign of imagination, so artistic and musical gifts will be right up your sensitive man's alley. Give him a pair of tickets to see his favorite band (with you, of course), and have yourselves a grand old time.

I've been surfing the net again last night when I came across this "interesting" quiz! Why interesting, well it just rates you on how well you kiss...No, you don't need to smooch with the screen, you'll just need to answer some tell-all kissing questions. :)

Most people would agree that great kissers go places.. (Most people I've mentioned here are my husband, my guy friends...and they actually share the same opinion that great kissers become more physically attractive!)

So, I took the risk of being branded a lousy kisser and took the test..and I got this result:

Mostly B: The Confident Kisser
You're a good kisser, but it tends to be a little partner-dependent: With some people you're fabulous, but if they're not particularly inspired, you lose interest. Kissing is important to you and plays a big part in your sex life, but you need to add some new tricks or you may end up getting bored (or God forbid, being boring!).
Results also include a tip on how you can perfect your kissing technique! and no I'm not posting the tips I got! hahaha!

Try it for yourself, its actually fun. Click here to rate how well you smooch!

The belly rules the mind. ~Spanish Proverb

I love lumpia! I make it at least twice a week. We have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner even as a snack! Now, you're thinking it's gonna taste bland if you eat it again and again. Well, I have acquired a lot of different recipes for sauces to make... one from my mom, one I got from my cousin and the last one from my mother-in-law.

LUMPIA SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE

4 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1 cup broth or water
2 segments garlic, crushed

1. Combine all dry ingredients and dissolve in water.
2. Cook until thick (in low fire)
3. Mix in garlic.

MILD CHILI SAUCE

1 1/2 cup canned tomatoes
2 cups chopped onion
2 chili (siling labuyo)
1 cup chopped celery
2 pods canned pimiento
5 bay leaves
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 cup calamansi juice
1/2 tsp sweet chili powder
1/4 cup brown sugar

1. Cook all ingredients together except kalamansi for 20-30 mins.
2. Cool and add kalamansi juice.
3. Remove bay leaves. Pour through fine strainer or blenderize.
4. Makes 1 quart.

LEMON-GARLIC SAUCE (this is a Cambodian Sauce, try it and you'll get addicted, its even great for roasted meat, fried fish..)

3 cloves garlic, minced
6 lemons, squeeze juice (kalamansi can be used about 20 pcs)
1 chili, chopped finely
5 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp thai fish sauce

Mix all ingredients together. Just add more sugar depending on your taste.

I don't have time to work out yet I am really aware that I need to move around. I don't want to have a sedentary lifestyle so I've taken it to heart to take a walk everyday. If I cant go out then I walk around the living room, the dining room...

I found some tips and guides on walking as your form of workout.

Walking is a smart way to exercise because it's easy to do and kind to your joints and doesn't require a lot of fancy equipment. It's also an incredibly versatile workout. In fact, there are four levels of walking to choose from when building your workout plan:
  1. Lifestyle Walking: Casual walking when you stroll through the park or mall
  2. Fitness Walking: Treadmill or a brisk walk through the neighborhood
  3. High-Energy Walk: Race walking at a lightning-quick pace
  4. Walk/Run: Alternating running and walking intervals to spike intensity
The level of walking right for you depends on your fitness level and your preferences. To help layout your walking plan, focus on F.I.T.:
  • Frequency: Number of times per week you decide to walk. Ideally, 3-5 times a week will lead you down the path to your goal.
  • Intensity: The number of times you walk per week may be dictated by your exercise intensity, or how hard you walk. In general, Lifestyle walkers should walk more frequently because they aren't pushing very hard. Fitness, High-Energy and Walk/Run walkers can get by with fewer workouts because they operate at a higher intensity.
  • If you plan on mixing and matching intensities, here's a suggestion: Lifestyle Walk 1 time a week; Fitness Walk 1-2 time a week; High-Energy Walk 1 time a week; and Walk/Run 1 time a week. As you become accustomed to Level 3 and 4 walks, you may include more of those walks and fewer of the Level 1 and 2 walks.
  • Time: For many of us, this is the most challenging component of any workout program. Where do you find 30-60 minutes, 3-5 days a week? Try mixing up your time intervals. On your high-intensity days do 20-35 minutes; on low-intensity days do 45-60 minutes. Or "accumulate" walks throughout the day. Doing three 10-minute walks gives you nearly the same health benefits and calorie burn as doing one 30-minute walk.

Does our personalities have an impact on our housecleaning styles? Well, it does and I found this nice article on the net... let me share: Your personality affects your indoor environment:
  • Impatient? Then you need a cleaner and a plan that work fast!
  • Perfectionist? Then you need the right cleaning tools...
  • Attracted to the newest tech? Then you want the latest cleaning equipment and products. One of the newest trends is to remove oneself from the grunge. Sponges appear on handles, and mops are made in such a way that hands never touch buckets or floors.
  • Environmentalist? Then you buy green cleaners and are attracted to natural scents such as grapefruit and orange or fragrance-free products.
  • Romantic? Then packaging is important, as are floral aromas.
  • Health conscious? You’ll want to educate yourself about allergies and asthma, or whether a cleaner can truly tackle Salmonella and E. coli.
  • Live for the shine? I read once about a woman who wiped down all the bathroom faucets every day before she left her house for work, because otherwise she could not live with herself. She had high self-expectations and valued the aesthetic. When she walked in the door at night she wanted to see sparkle.
  • Creative type? Pick out home furnishings that say “you” so much that — even if they require special care and extra steps to clean — they constantly reinforce your feeling that you made the right purchase.

I just love this! Whenever I hear this, hmm, I can't help but sigh and think I wish it was snowing and I have a mug of hot coffee with me. :) and of course my family and friends..

Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas.
Let your heart be light,
From now on our troubles
Will be out of sight.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on our troubles
Will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore,
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together
If the Fates allow,
Hang a shining star
On the highest bough,
And have yourself
A merry little Christmas now.

I don't like rushing things as much as possible and the best things my family and friends would appreciate are not super expensive gift... thumbnail 1 summary

I don't like rushing things as much as possible and the best things my family and friends would appreciate are not super expensive gifts, but well thought of and well prepared gifts. So as early as November, I had been preparing some gifts and supplies already. It doesn't leave me so stressed coz the malls/bazaars are not yet so full and everything is much cheaper.

Before the first week of December ends, I make sure I already have my gift wrapping supplies.
  • Wrapping paper (buy in bulk in Divisoria, bargain and you can get good/glossy ones for less than P3.00)
  • Gift Boxes (recycle or buy from Divisoria also though most box stores sell by 50's or 100's)
  • Gift Bags (you can buy it or make your own from your wrapping paper)
  • Ribbons/Accents (scour Tabora St., Divisoria or small shops along Villalobos and Palance Sts. in Quiapo - the price difference in malls is quite staggering!)
  • Gift Tags - buy it or make it your own, even your kids can give u a hand and just print it our in quality boards.
If you're sending out cards and packages out of the country or to provinces, then do this as early as November. Check Philippine Postal Corp., for details and cutoffs.

If you need tips and ideas on gift tags and wrapping, visit kaboose, craftbits, craftideas.

I'll be posting more on this topic!

  • Vinegar relieves sunburn and bee stings - soak a piece of cloth or cotton with vinegar and apply on skin.
  • It makes meat tender - marinate meat overnight.

  • Cleans windows - spray on windows and wipe with crumpled paper.
  • Removes stains on pots, pans and glasses - mix with salt and wash!
  • Softens feet! - pour some drops in warm water and voila! you have a nice foot soak.
  • Preserves cheese - wrap cheese in soaked cloth and place in a sealed container.
  • Prevents paint from peeling off galvanized metal - use vinegar as first coating, then leave to dry before applying paint.
  • Eliminates the smell of cigarette smoke - fill bowls and place in areas where you have cigarette smoke.
  • Improves the texture of rice - just add a few teaspoon to your cooking water.

The Best Toys for Toddlers to Enhance Learning

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives. ~Clay P. Bedford

My 4-year old daughter, Francine, is a very active, very curious child. It's always been a challenge for me when it comes to buying toys for her. I've always wanted to give her toys that are enjoyable, safe and can help her acquire learning skills.

With literally thousands of toys being marketed today, a lot of them, so-called "educational toys" well, visits to the toy store makes me dizzy and unsure of what can really help her learn as well as fun enough to hold a 4-year olds attention.

I've read a parenting article advising that the best educational toys, according to child-development experts, are those that encourage the development of specific skills, as opposed to toys that present facts or simply claim to "improve learning." "Enhances cognitive development sounds technical, but is really too general to be useful," writes psychologist Susan Hardwicke, in the October 2003 issue of Toy Directory Monthly. The truth is that all experiences develop the brain. The key to cognitive educational toys is to develop a number of different skills that are ultimately used in complex ways later in life."

Child development specialist say that the educational value of toys are much broader than right or wrong answers or simply knowing ABC's or 123's.
  • A rich variety of play gives children opportunities to learn and develop their physical, social, creative and intellectual skills. For example, through 'pretend,' children develop language and imagination-- the underpinnings for reading and writing.
  • A craft or construction kit involves fine motor skills and building dexterity, along with the ability to read and follow directions, working in a step-by-step sequence and staying with a task that is less than instantaneous."
Joanne Oppenheim, child development specialist and cofounder of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio recommends the following categories for playthings that enhance learning:
  1. Building Toys - for developing children's spatial reasoning as well as their ability to stick with a task (Lego's, building blocks)
  2. Art Supplies - allows for creative and nonverbal self-expression
  3. Props for Play-acting and Role Playing - food for imagination and language development;
  4. Board games that involve matching, counting and turn-taking
  5. Sports equipment - develops muscle coordination and teamwork as well as sense of fair play
  6. Puzzles - develop visual discrimination and patience to stay with a less than instant task.
I've been following this tip ( too keep me sane too when visiting the toy stores) and surprisingly, whenever we go out my daughter now actually chooses puzzles and art supplies instead of other toys...

Hope this can help for mom's on the lookout for gifts this Christmas!

What Ice Cream Flavor Are You?

Leisure: A fancy word for people who don't want to admit they're bored. ~Gene Perret

I've been "leisurely" browsing the net (again!) and I came across this little quiz that was interesting and amusing...

If you could be an ice cream what kind of flavor would you be? Try it! I took the test and it was really fun! Let me share my results:

You scored 55.6%
Vanilla

Contrary to what you may expect, Vanilla ice cream types aren't bland or boring. Rather,
you're probably quite gregarious, impulsive, fun loving and expressive. You may have a hard time making up your mind Vanillas are known for never saying no, even when they probably should. Vanilla types also tend to take a romantic, hopeful view of life. Your motto: Live for the moment, and everything will work out fine. When it comes to romance and relationships, Vanilla types are happiest with your own kind only someone equally spontaneous and energetic will do. Fun fact: Vanilla is far and away the most popular ice cream flavor.
---- this is just so true hahaha!

You scored 22.2%
Chocolate

If you're a Chocolate ice cream type, you are flirtatious, charming and even a little dramatic. No doubt you're an intuitive and sensitive person who puts a high value on family, relationships and romance. But your instincts may sometimes steer you wrong: You tend to be easily influenced in directions that you know aren't the best for you, and you have a tendency toward self-indulgence. Still, your liveliness and your trusting nature have earned you many admirers and friends. When it comes to romance and relationships, Chocolate types are compatible with reliable Butter Pecans and high-focus, high-energy Chocolate Chips. Fun fact: Chocolate is the second most popular ice cream flavor.

---well, I wanna see those many admirers! lol!

You scored 11.1%
Butter Pecan

Butter Pecan ice cream types are organized, put-together, and generally valued for their fairness, efficiency and lack of pretension you won't see a
Butter Pecan type putting on airs. In fact, it may be hard for a no-nonsense Butter Pecan type like you to express yourself at all, even though you're privately quite sympathetic and observant. No doubt you like to plan ahead and take charge, which means you're often over-committed. When it comes to romance and relationships, you're most compatible with your own kind other Butter Pecan types who appreciate hard work and good sense. Fun fact: Butter Pecan is tied with Strawberry for the third most popular ice cream flavor.

---- organized? now, that's not a word i could describe myself, but hey! I'm working on it!

You scored 11.1%
Chocolate Chip

If you're a Chocolate Chip ice cream type, you're a creative force to be reckoned with. No doubt you've got a competitive streak a mile wide. The good news is that it brings out the best in you by forcing you to live up to your own demanding standards. Still, you can be rather unforgiving at times with those who don't share your vision and drive. Friends value your magnetism, charm and originality. When it comes to romance and relationships, Chocolate Chips are best off with high-achieving Butter Pecans and empathetic, insightful Chocolates. Fun fact: Chocolate chip ice cream lovers tend to also indulge in other "chunky" flavors, such as Cookie Dough, Mint Chip and Rocky Road.

You scored 0%
Strawberry

Strawberry ice cream types are naturally loyal, honest and trustworthy. No doubt you have a devoted circle of friends who rely on you for the right answer to any moral dilemma. Like Chocolate Chip types, you tend to set high standards for yourself, but you are also somewhat shy and reserved. And you don't like to admit it, but you're also a tad pessimistic. Maybe you're just disappointed that no one can seem to live up to your own sense of responsibility and forthrightness. When it comes to romance and relationships, Strawberry types do well with optimistic, outgoing Chocolate Chips. Fun fact: Strawberry is tied with Butter Pecan as the third most popular ice cream flavor.

Wanna know your wine personality? Click here.

You scored 40% - Pinot Noir

In another life you were probably Colette. You obviously have a kind of sensuality that governs your outlook on life (and on men -- but that's another story). For you, the most satisfying wine of all (and if one isn't satisfied, what's the point?) is pinot noir.

--- I just love this description! ^_^

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it. ~Plato

Some of my friends have been raving about the Hip Hop Abs by Shaun T., the latest fitness program to hit the market. Well I must say I really want to try this out since the idea behind this program is to dance your way to have a great body.

This is actually the type of program that I like. They tell me its lively, with step by step instruction, with upbeat music, and great moves. I tried to do yoga and pilates but I failed miserably because I like to have a little noise when I'm working out.

Is this already available here in the Philippines? I saw an ad in sulit.ph offering this. Have you guys tried this already? If you have can you please share your experience with us? There are actually a lot of satisfied Hip Hoppers...
